(Meet Ms. Anna!)
Nice to meet you! As you may have read on my homepage, my name is Anna Arsenault, but my students call me Ms. Anna. I am currently in the Teacher Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania and I expect to graduate this May.
I currently work as a student teacher in a fourth grade classroom at Lea Elementary School. Prior to this placement, I worked as a first grade student teacher at Powel Elementary School. Before entering the Teacher Education Program, I spent the year after I graduated from college as an assistant teacher at Belmont Charter School in West Philadelphia. (It is located off of 40th Street and Lancaster.) I was able to work closely with four different teachers. It was during this time that I decided I wanted to be a teacher myself.
I graduated from The University of Chicago with a B.A. in Public Policy and a concentration in Education. Unfortunately, my college did not have an Education Department so I pursued the policy route.
Now on to some fun facts about me!

(The Fun Stuff!)
Crew
One of the biggest parts of my life in college was being a coxswain of the University of Chicago crew team. In fact, I was voted the captain of the women's team my senior year. Over the course of four years, I had the opportunity to return home to race on the Schuylkill River for the Dad Vail Regatta (four times!) and I raced at the Head of the Charles twice. Although we never brought home medals from either of those races, I coxed the boat that won MACRAs during my third year. During my fourth year, I was invited to participate in the Traversee du Seine in Paris, France.
Morocco
I also studied Arabic for two years in college. I knew that I wanted to study abroad, but I did not want a typical study abroad experience. I wanted to explore a different culture and put my Arabic skills to use. Originally we were supposed to go to Cairo, Egypt, but the University decided it would be safer for us to go to Morocco. I spent the winter of my third year (Junior year) studying Middle Eastern Civilizations and Arabic while living in homestays in Fez and Rabat.
Photography
My dad instilled a love of photography in me when I was growing up. Here are some of the photographs that I am proud of. I am also an avid traveller, so many of these photographs are from my experiences in France, Morocco, Portugal, and Spain.
